The calculators, articles and examples on SolarWattPro.com are provided for general information and preliminary planning only.
- Estimates, not designs. Results are based on standard assumptions (for example 20% system losses, 85% LiFePO4 depth of discharge and 50% lead-acid depth of discharge). Your real-world results depend on your equipment, climate, wiring and usage.
- Electricity is dangerous. Battery banks can deliver very high currents, and solar arrays produce voltage whenever light hits them. Incorrect wiring can cause fire, equipment damage, serious injury or death.
- Use a licensed professional. Always have your system designed, installed and inspected by a qualified, licensed electrician, and follow your local electrical code (for example the NEC in the United States, BS 7671 in the UK or your national equivalent), permitting rules and your utility’s interconnection requirements.
- Follow the manufacturer. Equipment manuals and data sheets take priority over any general guidance on this site.
